Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has launched a pilot project to compile a list of emerging, mid-career, and established professional Indigenous artists in the Atlantic Region. The list will be shared within federal departments and agencies in Atlantic Canada so that employees can use the list to procure indigenous art for use in Government of Canada buildings and offices in New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Island.
To be eligible, the artist must be:
an Elder; ora business owned and/or operated by a Band Council or Tribal Council; ora business registered on a Modern Treaty business list or business directory; ora business registered on the Indigenous Business Directory, administered by Indigenous Services Canada. Note: Organizations representing Indigenous artists may also be eligible.
