Statistics Canada is releasing this Request for Information (RFI) in order to obtain information on the availability in the marketplace for a commercial off-the-shelf analytical platform with integrated metadata and data. The platform should provide well-documented metadata to Data Documentation Initiative (DDI) standards and have available Rest APIs. The solution needs to be adaptable and scalable to meet our needs and must be installed in the Statistics Canada’s environment (Azure cloud).
Overall, the solution should offer clients a user-centric service delivery so that clients can securely access Statistics Canada’s microdata solutions. We are seeking to obtain information regarding products offered by contractors specializing in this area of data, metadata and analytics integrated platforms.
In support of these goals and objectives, Data Access Division needs to modernize our infrastructure for Real Time Remote Access (RTRA) and the Microdata Access Portal (MAP). We have a modern analytical platform that hosts Public Use Microdata Files with their data and metadata which are used for training and learning purposes by universities and colleges across Canada. We would like to leverage the current system and integrate the RTRA and MAP systems into the Statistics Canada ecosystem and target enterprise architecture. The solution needs to be able to seamlessly integrate structural, administrative and descriptive metadata into an analytical platform that also has user dashboards.
