Global Affairs Canada (GAC) has identified a requirement for trademark agents to assist and advise the Government of Canada in its management of the EduCanada trademark across foreign jurisdictions.
The purpose of this requirement is to acquire trademark agent services including but not limited to support during trademark monitoring, filing and renewal, as well as guidance regarding trademark strategy and trademark portfolio management. These services are in association with the registration process of the EduCanada trademark in Canada and in foreign jurisdictions and may be required during and after the registration of the trademark.
In addition, services may be required to protect the Government of Canada’s intellectual property and trademark rights in the event of potential unauthorized use of the EduCanada trademark by third parties in foreign jurisdictions. This may also include the purchase of web domain names in foreign countries. Any action deemed as legal services will be contracted to a third party through Justice Canada under a separate agreement. This contract also includes 4 option period of 1 year each.
